Community safety notice

Whistleblower Guidelines

Plain-language guidance for staying safe when sharing reports. This is not legal advice. Use your judgment and do not take unnecessary risks.

We are a community project, not legal counsel. Community members receive auto-generated public names, similar to Wikipedia usernames; NGOs and CSOs can share organization names. The report form does not collect names or contact details. You can optionally add an email or phone number to recover access later; this stays private. Drafts stay on your device until you submit; submitted reports are stored securely with access limited to trusted moderators. We cannot guarantee your safety—always put your wellbeing first.

  • Never endanger yourself to capture evidence.
  • Avoid personal details or identifying information in your report.
  • Be aware that photos and files can contain location metadata.
  • If you feel unsafe, pause and prioritize your wellbeing.

In an emergency or immediate threat, contact local authorities or trusted NGOs directly. If you need legal guidance, speak with a qualified lawyer.
